Biggest Animation Studios to Work For

Animation has become a huge part of western society, and really all over the world. There are hundreds upon hundreds of animation studios out there, but there are only a couple handful that have really been game changers in the industry. Some of the movies created by these top dogs of animation have been amongst the highest grossing films of all time, and given us some of our fondest memories of our on screen favorites.

We start this list off in no particular order by talking about Pixar; who for a long time now has been one of the most successful animation studios in the world. Pixar has given us movies like Cars, Monsters Inc, Ratatouillie and the one that started it all, Toy Story. For those of you who didn’t know, the late Steve Jobs of Apple Computers came in and made Pixar what it is today.

After Pixar there is DreamWorks entertainment, DreamWorks has given us the wonderful Shrek, Puss and Boots, Kung Fu Panda, and Shark Tale. DreamWorks is argued by some as the best animation studio because of its innovative stories and pushing of the technological envelope. However, as these are not qualitative measurements, the best studio can still only be a matter of opinion.

We can’t talk about animation without talking about the original master of the art form: Disney. Disney has given us more animated films and series than any other company in history. For those who are supporters of traditional animation, Disney reigns supreme and maybe always will.

Sometimes studios provide us with animation without being the sole part of the production process. A company like this which deserves an honorable mention is FOX, who supports animation in a different way, through cable television. Although not directly responsible for production, Fox have given us the likes of Futurama, Family Guy, and the Simpsons. The Simpsons is the longest running sitcom in television history, and all three of these shows have found popularity in nearly every country in the world.

While there are still hundreds upon hundreds of animation studios to name, the studios listed are among the most recognizable, both in the US and worldwide. Each of these studios has shown tremendous amounts of dedication to their craft, as well as giving us countless films and shows that have created some of the most wonderful memories.

With the new age of technology that is coming, it’s sure that we will see new forms of animation that will surpass the expectations of everyone in the world today. With the availability of 3-D animation for example, characters come to life in a new dimension, and can be experienced from the comfort of our own homes. Animation as a whole has still yet to fully hit maturity, and given the level it has already reached there is no telling the innovations that are sure to happen in the years to come.
